Not some, not half. All but one.

You're only given a little spark of madness. You mustn't lose it. - Robin Williams

Yo guys, its been a few days since I last blogged. So to begin with the quote; at uni I saw a poster promoting the Comedy Gala that will be held at UNSW roundhouse. I think it will be awesome as, a good, live, standup comedy is an experience in itself that has an atmosphere that is different from a dance show. I don't know you just have to have been at one to get what I mean. However I digress, the reason I used this quote for this entry is because I am a fan of Robin Williams actor, comedian and great charmer. Had been a strong fan of his since I'd first watch his movie...it has been so long that I can not remember which movie I'd watched first. Anyway his most recent work was an advertisement for Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3ds.

Mr Williams, he still has it.

I must admit it is one of the most wittiest lines I have ever heard and wish he was my wing man or he let me be his wing man.

So on to the last few days. It was just busy. To those who don't know. I practice another type of dance. Latin dance, specifically Salsa and Bachata. These style is a partner dance style which moves to latin beats on the timing of 1,2,3 and 5,6,7. Some moves are more saucer than one would be comfortable with but it is still fun since its all for dance.

So as a result I am a part of the Latin Dance Society at UNSW and is part of the performance crew. The thing that kept me busy was rehearsing for a parade to mark the start of the university's ARTS week. However things did not go to plan...well I and a few latin dance executives had worries about this event.
  • The first alarm bell that got me worried was, the flow of information between us and the ARC organisers was sparse and we had very little information about the event.
  • The second bell shot off a week before the parade, there was no plan for rehearsal times =S.
  • The last alarm bell went off on the day......no one knew of the event...
Our performance group was meeting outside the organisers office. So I decided to head there early and hunt down for information. What I uncovered was worse than the alarm bells. All other societies pulled out of the event that morning! When I told the group about it. Alan laughed and made a quote - "Not some, not half. All but one society backed out of the parade". But who can blame them, as evident from the three alarm bells above, even I would consider pulling out.

However, regardless of what happened to the parade the performance group decided to go on ahead. We didn't want our time and makeup to be wasted...well for the girls of course.

Us before we went on the "parade"

The end of the "parade"

Looking at the last picture now. I feel as though I should not have done the proper dip technique >_>.

If I see a video of the choreography, I'll link it on facebook. =p

Now to less climatic things.

So some may know that I have found work. Not just any work, but work in my area of study *_*. That in itself is awesome. From last weeks experience I feel as though I did very little and was not productive at all. The uni work pile had started to add pressure leaving me debating if I want to continue this kind of life style. I talked to many people concerning this topic; friends, post graduates and family. So in the end I decided to just stick with work for the time being. This would most likely lead me to skip more Wednesdays k-pop classes in the future... ='[
However I keep reminding myself, IJGK'd are like family. They'll understand and I can come back anytime.

The last topic of this blog. Field trip! So after 3 and a bit years of university. I am finally going on a field trip with my one of my first university friends. We had been doing similar course in first year, but somehow we never had field trips together. The trip will be to a park called Kioloa.

It is at the A

This is a 3 and a half hour car ride down there and I will be driving. But still I can not wait for this because...well...who wouldn't enjoy a field trip.  ^_^

I will dedicate a blog to this field trip after I have gone on it. This field trip did cost me a few things. But I am so very excited for it and can not wait to get there!

Thanks again for taking a glimpse into the life of Huy.
